Cowiche Canyon Trail
|MARCH 13, 2010 It was a beautiful day for this
hike in Cowiche Canyon with the Mountaineers. The trail extends 3
miles through the canyon with side trails leading to the uplands on one
side and a winery on the other. We hiked the canyon from end to
end, and the Uplands Trail in search of wildflowers, which we found in
abundance: grass widows, sagebrush violets, sagebrush buttercups,
yellow bells and more. Wonderful views of Cleman Mountain graced
our lunch spot, and everyone enjoyed the generous sunshine.
It was 2 years ago this weekend the last time I was here, and I was surprised all over again by how beautiful it is.
