Skyline Lake

MARCH 1, 2008   A Mountaineers snowshoe.  Fresh snow overnight turned this trail into a winter wonderland, and conditions were perfect for snowshoeing.  We had a wide variety of weather conditions--sun, wind, clouds, snow, more sun--as we made our way up the steep service road to Skyline Lake.  The road leads up through pretty woods and views of the surrounding mountains until it comes to an end at a tower overlooking Nason Valley. We lunched at Skyline Lake, which was frozen and covered with snow, before returning to the trailhead.
